Dysport® and Xeomin® are neuromodulators, or wrinkle relaxers, among the world’s most popular non-invasive procedures. These injectables smooth wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead, face, and neck. Injections are quick and relatively painless and can produce visible results within days.
How are Dysport® and Xeomin® Different from BOTOX®?
BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® temporarily improve wrinkles' appearance. All three relax the muscles that cause creases, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance.
BOTOX® is typically used for moderate to severe wrinkles. It was the first FDA-approved treatment of frown lines and forehead lines for up to six months.
Dysport® is similar to BOTOX® but is said to diffuse more quickly, making it a better choice for treating large areas or people with sensitive skin. Dysport® results generally last up to four months.
Xeomin® is considered a “naked injectable,” meaning it does not contain additives. A benefit of a pure-form injectable is that the human body is less likely to become resistant to it. While some patients have developed antibodies to BOTOX® and Dysport®, this has not been reported with Xeomin®.
