I’m very excited to share before and after photos of one of our Thanksgiving Makeover Contest winners.
Most of my clients who present for filler are concerned about looking unnatural, over-filled, and puffy. One of the nice things that sets me apart from a lot of injectors is that I am a board-certified facial plastic surgeon. This means that I have other tools in my pocket other than just filler. Filler is great, don't get me wrong, but it will never replace what surgery can offer.
What fillers can do:
- Plump
- Volumize
- Hydrate
- Contour
What filler can't do (no matter what anyone tells you):
- Lift
- Elevate
- Tighten
When you see someone for fillers who can't perform surgery, they sometimes oversell the filler, attempting to make it do things that it was never intended to do. and that's when the trouble starts. Instead of correcting sagging skin by performing a lift, they overfill until the skin is tight, leading to unnatural results.
Filler should always be subtle. The goal is that no one knows where it was placed or how much was used. The aesthetic we aim for is a natural, refreshed looked.
I think this patient is an excellent example of that. In her case, we used 3 syringes of product from the Revance line:
- RHA2 for the under-eye areas and lips
- RHA4 for the cheeks
- RHA3 for the nasolabial folds
One of the things that I love about this filler is that it moves so naturally with the face. There's no lumps or bumps with smiling and that's what keeps my patients coming back!
